The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 became one of the most popular smartphones in the Indian smartphone industry even before it was officially launched in the country.
The Redmi by Xiaomi’s first ever smartphone, Redmi Note 7 was launched earlier last month and made it to the first flash sale in China on January 15. Priced at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,400), the smartphone featured military grade build quality and a 48-megapixel camera mounted on the back. Redmi CEO Lu Weibing had then commented that Redmi was aiming to sell a whopping 1 million units in a month. Now four weeks after the statement, Redmi has sold 1 million of the Redmi Note 7. The reaching of this impressive milestone was confirmed on Weibing’s own Weibo account. Weibing also revealed an internal message meant for the Xiaomi’s board of directors which confirmed the seven-digit benchmark.

Although the Redmi Note 7 was earlier tipped to land in the month of February 2019, reports are now claiming that the Redmi Note 7 with a 48-megapixel camera smartphone will only be launched in March this year. Apart from the Note 7, Xiaomi is also planning to launch the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro and Xiaomi Redmi Go alongside the Redmi Note 7 smartphone.
In a report published by MySmartPrice, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 launch in India has been postponed to March. Although the exact launch date is not yet confirmed, Xiaomi has already been teasing the Redmi Note 7 in India with Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain and has also been meeting some Mi fans so as to promote the new Redmi Note 7.
The Redmi Note 7 was sold in a series of flash sales with all the sales witnessing thousands of Redmi Note 7 disappearing in minutes. Considering the hype that the smartphone has created, we can assume the smartphone could do well in the Indian market as well. However, till then, fingers crossed.
