There’s been a lot of reports about certain stars exiting the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers: Endgame but nothing was official until now. One Marvel star has confirmed the exit from MCU.
A lot has been written and discussed about Avengers: Endgame and the possibility of its stars mainly Robert Downey Jr aka Iron Man aka Tony Stark and Chris Evans aka Captain America aka Steve Rogers exiting the universe. Every other day there is a new fan theory speculating the end of their favourite superhero characters in the Avengers: Endgame. But nothing has been officially confirmed neither by the makers nor by the stars.
A couple of months back, Captain America star Chris Evans had insinuated his exit from Marvel Cinematic Universe but that was debunked by Russo Brothers. However, now we have finally got a confirmation on one of its stars exiting MCU. The star in question is one of the first members to join MCU with the first movie Iron Man back in 2008 and has been an integral part of the universe since then.
We are talking about Pepper Potts aka Gwyneth Paltrow. Talking to Variety, Gwyneth announced her retirement from MCU. She said,
I mean, I’m a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point. I feel very lucky that I did it, because I actually got talked into it. I was friend with (Iron Man director) Jon Favreau. It was such a wonderful experience making the first ‘Iron Man’ and then to watch how important it has become to fans.
She, however, didn’t rule out the possibility of a cameo in any of the future films. She said,
I feel honoured to be a part of something that people are so passionate about. Of course, if they said, ‘Can you come back for a day?,’ I will always be there if they need me.
It is most likely that we will see her play Pepper Potts for the last time in Avengers: Endgame. Having said that, there have been rumours of her making a cameo in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which releases a couple of months after Avengers: Endgame. So, let’s see.
Avengers: Endgame releases on April 26.
