IPL 2019: Here is the updated points table, Orange cap and Purple cap holder after the entertaining match between KXIP and DC in Mohali.

Kings XI Punjab pulled off a terrific comeback from out of nowhere to defeat Delhi Capitals by 14 runs in Mohali on Sunday. Sam Curran’s all-round performance was the highlight in Punjab’s third win in the ongoing IPL 2019. He scored a quickfire 20 off 10 before finishing the match with a spectacular hat-trick.

Last 17 balls, 8 runs, 7 wickets – that is how Punjab changed the phase of the game. Even until the presence of Rishabh Pant and Colin Ingram with their gritty 50-plus stand, DC were well on track to reach the target of 167. But then, Mohammed Shami scalped two, Curran picked four and Ashwin inflicted a stellar run-out dismissal to fold Delhi 14 runs short of the mark.

“Not many times you defend. When Rishabh hit the six, we just needed to hang in there. Credit to Shami and Curran. We were probably 25 runs short. We backed ourselves to defend with three spinners,” said Ashwin at the end of the match.

Updated Points Table:

KXIP scripted their third win in IPL 2019 to amass six points. They stand second in the points table after Chennai Super Kings who stand atop based on their net run rate.

Orange Cap table:

The Sunrisers Hyderabad pair of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow maintain the top two positions in the Orange Cap list, respectively, after their phenomenal 185-run stand against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan have made their way into the top-5 list with their 30-odd scores against KXIP. Pant has 153 runs from 4 innings, while Dhawan has 140 in IPL 2019.

Purple Cap table:

Imran Tahir, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kagiso Rabada and Dwayne Bravo all stand atop in the list with six wickets each from their respective matches. Rabada dismissed Hardus Viljoen and Murugan Ashwin in the match against KXIP on Monday. Andre Russell completes the top-five list with his five wickets in three matches.
